Preserving Memories Through Photography
Photo captured by Nagesh Vannuur (Click Image to See More From Nagesh ) Whats your story? How did you get started with photography? Where has it taken you and what else...

The ability of photography to connect to our past, associate us in an event, and preserve memories without words or interpretation makes it an influential hobby for all of us.

The technology revolving around photography is highly addictive and the way brands play into peoples minds produced both amusing conflicts and insipirational camaraderie. The simple fact that most of the products arent that different but they are marketed in such a way that only subjective comparisons can be made these days allows photography to be an endless source of debate, which by itself is entertaining and attention grabbing already.

Film cameras in the past get to enjoy a life cycle of about 2-3 years per model. Now in the digital world, even the highest models only get 18 months of life before being supplanted by a new model. Entry level cameras wont even last a year before theyre due for replacement.

New technologies bring out new needs for additional accessories and gadgets, and for most of us gear heads, were more than willing to help out the economy and feed that gear lust of ours.

The biggest reason, I believe, is just the ability of capturing a moment as it happens with just a single click of a button. Sure, skilled and experience photographers may capture the scene in a more artistic manner compared to the casual snapper, but the key point is, you captured what you want to remember right then and there!

Our brain and its stored memory are amazing, you can piece together fragments of an event and relive the entire day with ease. If its a group event, all of you can recall every single detail collectively with just one photograph. The emotions a photograph can throw back at you can be overwhelming at times regardless of technical execution.

I found solid DOF on your NOTE!!!

you must have concentrated your writing on that hanging grass. if it is good image. species? please concentrate on species related images and write note on species. because the page focus on different species rather than photography as an art.

Hello Nagest, Very interesting note and I do have some common thoughts about the digital world now a days. Your image here does demonstrate what 'Nature is really meant'. Nature just as simple as this hanging grass.......so natural and real. The pity is that the hanging grass is not focus otherwise it is a very good presentation along with the note. Thank for sharing

Nagesh,
Your note "touched" my person. Very lovely sentiments.
For a first presentation on TN the image is alright; however, all it needed was a bit of "sharpening" without going overboard to cause the image "noisy".
So, I've prepared a W/S. Hope you don't mind. When I first started on TN a lot of folk helped me out by doing work shops on my postings. Am most grateful to them 'cause I learnt a lot via their talents. I suggest you download a free software to help you re-fine your images.
Best and most kind regards from Mario in Canada.
