|This beautiful golden finch (Sicalis flaveola) is perched in a tree in my area of Argentina called "Palo Borracho"(1) and I discovered that, thanks to its leafy crown and terrible spines covering its entire trunk and branches, it is a temporary or permanent shelter for countless species of birds.|
(1) Family: Bombacaceae.
Scientific name: Chorisia speciosa
PS: This photograph of my files belongs to a series of which already, at some point, had published some work.

A beautiful finch indeed and captured in a relaxed pose. It reminds me somewhat of the American Goldfinches we have here in Ohio. I like a vertical composition due to the elongated pose of its body, but I think there is a bit too much space below the bird.
The way the tree is covered in spines is quite unique.

Very nice sharp and well exposed photo of this Finch.
Thanks for visiting my gallery. I just return from a short trip to Danube Delta.....a fantastic bird world on water.....heaven on earth for most bird photographers.....
Lovely golden finch with very nice yellow colors.
