I shot this Handmaiden Moth with my new equipment (Nikon D7200 + Nikkor 40mm micro) at a very strange location on the boundary wall of my school. The wall has spaced out shallow arches and this Moth was sticking up-side-down on one of the arches in such a way that I was directly under it and a few inches away. Since it was in the shade of a canopy of trees, I used fill-flash to capture it. Here it is and I hope you like it.

Amata bicincta is a species of moth in the genus Amata (or Syntomis) of the subfamily Arctiinae ("woolly bears" or "tiger moths"). It is also known as nine-spotted moth and handmaiden moth. It is a common day-flying warningly colored moth. The adult is unpalatable to birds and other predators. It is found in the north-western Himalayas, Sikkim, Khasis and Bangladesh,
